Kivy and Buildozer

So I’m intrigued by the promising use of python, fast dev and all that.

I’m having a lot of trouble getting buildozer to work though

My application keeps crashing.

I have not successfully gotten buildozer to not crash.

Maybe it’ll work on iphone?

However, the kivy launcher app seems to be workingon my android (Galaxy SIII).

make a folder on the drive the phone appears as called kivy

Then another folder for each program with the python and an android.txt

Plyer has the juiciest stuff

Mmm Juicy.

I’m a ham now. DEAL WITH IT

Tried the exam questions last night. 500 or so, need to get 26 right out of 35. So we took the technician license as a crew. Passed. Failed the general license. What ya gonna do.

Buying some cheapo handhelds to get goin. Baofung somethings. Cheap but high rated guys on amazon.

We’ll see.

This may be useful?

This is a bird

So I have this parabola project that has been rotting me from the inside for months.

We wanted the build a giant parabola somehow for one of those far away whispering demos.

We tried winging it a little and it failed. Miserably. A horrendous boondoggle.

Then I went back to the drawing board. I made a python program that would construct an approximation out of triangular panels and angled connector pieces.

Then i sent it to Ponoko, but I screwed everything up. Plus I made it full scale without a model one first so it was real expensive.

Then Ponoko didn’t really refund me. They gave me some nebulous credit, which is annoying.

I have maybe fixed it and sent it off again finally. We’ll see.

Pausing Prints

So we want to be able to pause prints to put stuff in them.

The way to do it is to export gcode from slic3r. Go into repetier’s gcode editor tab.

Then you can drag the layer slider until you’re where you want a pause.

Show layer range is a nice setting

Click on the button that says last layer to bring yourself to the part of the code

The Z instruction moves up to the next layer.

Insert this little hunk of code inside

G1 X0 Y0 sends the head to 0,0 to get it out of the way

M117 Sends a messsage

M0 waits for user response for our prusa i3 with marlin firmware (button press)

The last line returns it to its previous position. Make sure to replace those numbers with the actual numbers you see.

M226 did not seem to work. Nor did repetier style @pause
